The Ontario government recently announced financial assistance options for Ontarians interested in pursuing a career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). Up to 4,000 new PSW students who enroll at a participating private career college between June 1 and September 30, 2022 will be eligible for this $54.7 million funding. Eligible students may receive up to $13,690 in financial aid to cover tuition, books, and other mandatory fees, as well as a wage stipend for their clinical placement.

With Academy of Learning Career College’s remote learning modality, you can safely and conveniently attend online classes in the comfort of your own home — or wherever you prefer — before completing your placement in an Ontario participating long-term care facility.

Aside from being a promising career in the ever-expanding healthcare field, working as a PSW allows you to choose your own workplace. Work in a long-term care home, hospital, home care, or retirement home — or work for yourself as a self-employed worker at your client’s home.
