Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) Program
Admission Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent or Mature Student status.
- Courses are open to any applicant who possesses a good command of the English language and is able to follow instructions.
- An admissions interview will be administered to determine if the applicant has the required interest, motivation, and entry-level skills to take this program.
- Full-time students must attend the required hours per week as per the course schedule and may do so at times convenient to them.
Program Highlights
The Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) Program is designed to equip childcare workers with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for employment as Early Childhood Assistants in day care or early learning centers. It gives students course content to be well prepared to experience the responsibilities of an ECA in two separate practicumplacements where they must perform in a supervised professional setting. The Early Childhood Assistant Program provides the foundational skills necessary to move into an Early Childhood Education Program.
